The Bram Stoker Film Festival Fashion Show

My creative partner and I were invited to take part  by providing outfits and accessories for The Bram Stoker International Film Festival Fashion Show held in Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK ~http://www.bramstokerfilmfestival.com/

We had a fun weekend, with great friends, excellent entertainment in the wonderful town of Whitby and finished it off Sunday at midnight watching the 1992 Dracula film directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, based on Bram Stoker’s novel.

Whitby is a seaside town and port situated on the east coast of Yorkshire, England. Once a year it holds the film Festival and twice a year the Gothic music weekends in April and then at Halloween.

Whitby is the home to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, has a history of fishing and whaling, was where Captain Cook learned seamanship, the steam railway arrived in 1839, jet and alum were mined locally with Whitby jet being sort after and fashionable by the Victorians and is associated with the horror novel Dracula writen by Bram Stoker.  Dracula leaves his castle and boards a Russian ship, the Demeter, taking along with him boxes of Transylvanian soil, which he needs in order to regain his strength. During the voyage to Whitby, he sustains himself on the ship’s crew members. Only one body is later found, that of the captain, who is found tied up to the ship’s helm. The captain’s log is recovered and tells of strange events that had taken place during the ship’s journey. Dracula leaves the ship in the form of a dog.

These are the first few photos – more to follow ……
